NIDEK OPD-SCAN III VS CORNEAL TOPOGRAPH Refractive Power Corneal Analyzer

The OPD-Scan III VS is an aberrometer providing optimal and eased eyeglass prescription with detailed measurement information. This device mainly measures corneal contour (topographer) and refractive error (refractometer). It explains causes of vision difficulties through wavefront analysis of data measured over a broad area.

The OPD-Scan III VS opens a variety of business possibilities as a new communication tool for providing solutions in consulting.

Five-in-one true refractive workstation for all practitioners

This Autorefractor, Keratometer, Pupillometer (around 9.5mm), Corneal Topographer, and Integrated Wavefront Aberrometer finishes 20 diagnostic metrics in under 10 minutes per eye (like angle kappa, HOAs, average student power, RMS value, and point spread function). Automatic capture and Easy alignment of information ensure accurate readings. Wavefront information is gathered from accessible zones up to a 9.5mm area, adding the capability to provide for the calculation of mesopic refractions. Light, Placido disc, 33 rings are gathered in one second.

NIDEK OPD SCAN III Wavefront Aberrometer, Topographer, and Visual Function DeviceIncludes 2520 aberrometry measurements, over 11,000 topography measurements, photopic and mesopic pupillometry, lenticular retroillumination, a toric lens preparation tool, and visual simulations replicating photopic or mesopic conditions.

A new interactive graphics interface summarises the information in comprehensive overview displays. Overview screens can be customized to include information specific to the program.

NIDEK OPD Scan III is the third generation aberrometer / corneal topographer that’s an actual refractive workstation for many practitioners. Since the goal is to track changes following the treatment, it’s necessary to determine OPD Scan III dimension accuracy.

OPD Scan III is a multifunctional device which projects Placido ring images on the retina to get topographic measurements. The mirrored image capture with a camera and image evaluation is done to determine the form of the cornea.  The device is also capable of wavefront aberration analysis using Zernike polynomials

OPD Scan III steps 8 mm keratometry using 33 mires whereas the mentioned study utilized Orbscan measurements in the 3 mm with six mires. Thus, the gap between the two studies could be attributed to differences in examined areas.
